Seminar on women and labour on February 29

Bengaluru: Gram Seva Sangh and Centre for Budget and Policy Studies have organised a Convention on Women and Labour on February 29 at Kondajji Basappa Auditorium, Palace Road, Bengaluru at 10 am.

Hasiru Dala, Fields of View, Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, N.S.S (State Cell) are the co- organisers for this convention on the topic- Unseen work, unheard stories.

This convention is a part of the ongoing Satyagraha for the sacred economy and this convention is a forum through which we can bring attention to the different forms of labour that women engage in.

More importantly, it is to discuss and understand the live experience and meaning of labour itself. More details about the convention can be found in the attached concept note and agenda and poster.

Dr Motamma, a senior politician and activist will be presenting introductory speech. Jaya Mehta, a senior economist and trade union activist from Madhya Pradesh is delivering the keynote address. Later there will be four panel discussions and Sabeeha Bhoomi Gowda, VC, Bijapur Women’s University will feliver closing remarks. Along with the panel discussions there will be cultural programs, exhibition cum sale and photo exhibits.
