Seminar on Gandhi’s influence on South India at varsity

Mysuru: Eminent scholars from various parts of South India are exploring Mahathma Gandhi’s influence on South India at a daylong seminar at University of Mysuru.

Professor NS Rangaraju will speak on Gandhi and Karnataka, Dr M Rangaswamy on Gandhi roots in Tamil  Nadu and Pondicherry, Dr Linganna Gonal on Gandhi visit to Telangana, N Susheela will speak on Gandhi influence on Andhra Pradesh and Dr Ratnakara Mallanmole will speak on Gandhiji’s influence on Kerala.

The day long seminar has been jointly organised by Gandhi Study Centre and Kaginele Mahasamsthana Kanaka Gurupeeta College of Education.

Varsity vice-chancellor Prof G Hemanth Kumar inaugurated the seminar which was attended by registrar R Shivappa, Gandhi Study Centre director MS Shekar, Gandhian Sarojamma Tulasi Dasappa and Vishalakshi of Kaginele College.

Prior to the seminar, Nirantara troupe presented Gandhi bhajans.
