1 min read

Udupi: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) will contest in 100 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in the State.

Addressing reporters in Udupi, SDPI state secretary Afsar Kodlipete said neither Congress and JD(S) nor BJP have done anything for the overall development of the State. The SDPI would like to be the alternative to these major political parties for the people of Karnataka, he added.

He further said that the party has already released the first list of candidates. Besides, it will contest in eight seats in the twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

He complained that the BJP government was being partial towards the victims of minority communities, who were murdered recently in Dakshina Kannada districts. He criticised the State government for not extending any help to the family of Fazil who was killed allegedly to avenge the murder of BJP youth wing leader Praveen Nettaru.
