NSS volunteers of MMK- SDM College green up Hinkal lake

Mysuru: National service scheme ( NSS) volunteers of MMK and SDM Women’s College in the city have planted 50 saplings at the surroundings of Hinkal lake and temple on September 25.

ZP member Rakesh Papanna inaugurates the NSS Day programne at Hinkal in Mysuru. MMK- SDM College Principal Prof Sainath Malligemadu, SKDRDP officers Vijaykumar Naganala and Srihari are seen.

About 60 volunteers took part in the NSS Day programme organised in association with Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Project ( SKDRDP).

College Principal Prof Sainath Malligemadu said “It is important to create awareness among the students about conservation activities in the society. Awareness on environment should be made among all the students. The programne aims at realising the dream of ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi to build ‘Gram Swarajya’ on account of birth centenary celebration of Gandhiji on October 2”.
