Science Day: Students of Lalitha School showcase their skills

Mysuru: Lalitha High School, Mysuru, an unaided school run under the aegis of South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation conducted Science Day on Friday on the School campus.

Children’s from nursery to 10th standard demonstrated over 60 projects, a majority of them working models. The themes for the projects included conservation of water and ecology, global warming, renewable sources of energy, perils of single use plastics and other basic scientific principles which revolutionised the human history in the last 3-4 centuries.

Earlier, Rahul Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Mysuru declared the Science Day open and took a close look of the projects to understand the scientific spirit of the students.
Agarwal exhorted the students to inculcate the habit of enquiry to be at the forefront of innovation. He mentioned the great contributions of young scientists of the country in India becoming self-reliant in many spheres.

Pooja Agarwal, President, South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation of Mysuru Railway Division, spoke on the occasion and wanted the School faculty to encourage the students to play an important role in adopting technologies backed by science to remove backwardness and superstitions in the society.
Vinayak R Naik, E Vijaya, Additional DRMs, other School Management Committee members and other senior Railway Officials were present on this occasion.
