1 min read

Mysuru: As the forest department is preparing to shift four of the six Palace elephants to Gujarat, Karnataka Tourism Society Director Prashanth B S has raised the pitch to retain the pachyderms in the city.

Speaking to media on account of World Tourism Day, Prashanth said “Mysore Palace is a top tourist destination. Here elephants are one among the major attractions. Hence it is not wise to shift the Palace elephants to other state. Instead, the government must immediately respond to the demand for their care and ensure that the elephants remain in Mysore Palace only.”

Otherwise we tourism stakeholders are ready to raise funds through alms and retain the the Palace elephants, warned Prashanth.
