Save Mysuru Palace Committee President Nandeesh Urs dies of Covid-19

Mysuru: Save Mysuru Palace Committe President Nandeesh Urs ( 51) passed away due to Covid-19 complications on Monday.

Urs was undergoing treatment at a private hospital from the past five days.

Nandeesh Urs was also a secretary of Ursu Mandali Mysuru and was in the lead of the community related activities. He was running a private agency and was also a contractor.

Urs who was also into hotel business, was running Agrahara Tiffany’s restaurant.

A staunch follower of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, Nandeesh had strongly voiced for the installation of the statue of late royal scion Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar at Shivaratri Rajendra Circle (Gun House) opposite the main gate of the Palace.

Urs had also taken the lead of protest organised in KRS dam raising the voice for the installation of statue of only erstwhile Maharaja of Mysuru Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, strongly opposing the plans of Water Resources Department to install the statue along with that of dewan Sir M Visvesvaraya.

He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and son- in-law.
