Sathish Mysuru of ‘Kannadati’ fame wants to make a mark in acting

Mysuru: That cultural capital Mysuru shares an unwavering bond with the field of art is known to many. Once a hub of film making and theatre, the City of Palaces has the credit of producing finest talents who have left behind an indelible mark in the realm.

There are several artists irrespective of big or small screen who have made the city second home, even though Bengaluru remains the place of work.

Kannadathi a popular daily soap aired on Colours Kannada channel has endeared many viewers. So also the actors and characters like Harsha, Bhuvi and Sudarshan who have of late turned a viewers choice.

Sudarshan in a negative shade is played  by Sathish M K who proudly calls him as ‘Sathish Mysuru”.

A resident of Srirampura second stage, Sathish moved back to Mysuru along with his family as he couldn’t resist staying away from the native for long.

The 46-year-old Sathish who charms people with his fit and fine physique in his first meet, looks cut for acting, with macho men always in demand on screen.

A passionate cricketer once, he started his journey on field from Mysuru Gymkhana Club and later shifted to Benglauru. His tryst with fitness was such, he was pedalling cycle for nearly 25 km for cricket practice. He has participated under-22 tournaments in Bengaluru.

Sathish did his schooling at Hardwicke School and Maharajas Junior college in Mysuru and joined Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Though he landed a job in BPL company, his love for acting made him quit.

To hone his acting skills, Sathish joined Abhinaya Taranga (Founded by late A S Murthy) a theatre troupe in Bengaluru.

Sathish was busy on stage during 2002-04 and later in 2005 married theatre actor Arundati Sharma. The couple is blessed with two daughters.

A fitness freak, Sathish also opened a gymnasium at J P Nagar and trained a lot of youths along with the tips on maintaining fitness, which he says is a must for all.

On the other hand, he also took part in several state level body building competitions.

Sathish also started to learn more about human body and its nature and completed international certificate course from American Council on Exercise (ACE) for personal training as fitness guru, diet expert and sports coach.

He also has International Sports Science Association Certificate and became a professional trainer and trained number of sports personalities, golf players and swimmers, followed by First Aid training from American Heart Association and participated as a volunteer in number of events as First Aid trainer.

Sathish who had a penchant for acting also wanted to make a mark in the field.  He joined Vinod Dondale and acted in several episodes of Shantam Papam (also aired on Colours), a recreation of real life crime stories, under his direction.

Now, Sathish has been grabbing eyeballs in Jai Mata Combines Yashwanth Pandu directorial Kannadati, which also tops TRP chart.

Besides, he has also acted in two films with ‘The Dreams’ being one among them.

Sathish who exclusively spoke to Mysoorunews.com recalled how the journey of his life saw too many curves,  but his dedication and interest in each segment remained intact like as a cricketer, actor, businessman, gym trainer, body building and mentor and a full time actor now, all moulded into one.

Amidst this, Sathish humbly owes his success to his 71-year-old mother and brother Venkatesh M K a software professional and his wife Arundathi. Not to forget, the directors and talented many, and I am thankful to them all, said Sathish.

Having avid interest in reading and watching web series, he has a liking especially for thrillers.

Besides, he is deeply influenced by actors late Puneeth Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar, Darshan Thoogudeepa and Sonu Sood who are also known for their fitness.

He is eagerly looking to make a mark in films irrespective of language, with Sandalwood being his first love.

Actor cum mentor Sathish is also ready to launch a dedicated training course for those who aspire to become actor and keep fitness.

Kiran Raj a fellow Mysurean who is playing the role of Harsha in Kannadati  suggested the idea to Sathish to design a program including acting and fitness training.

Sathish is working towards introducing this innovative concept, besides thanking Kiran Raj for the idea.
