Sarkari…director brings new look to govt school

Karnataka: Kannada Film director Rishab Shetty has kept his word. Truly like a man behind the camera who dished out a meaningful and thought provoking film- Sarkari hiriya prathamika shale Kasargodu: Koduge Ramanna Rai’, he has given a new look to over a century old government school where the movie was shot.

Rishab has shared the photos of the school on his Twitter handle, now being refurbished with a fresh coat of paint. The walls are being adorned with paintings of Yakshagana, fishermen and of Koti- Chennayya the legendary brothers of the land.

Sarkari… released in August 2018 was one of the biggest blockbusters, that made a strong pitch for reviving Kannada in government schools in the border- Kasargod¬† in Kerala,

A 137 year old government primary school at Kairangala in Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada was the place where movie was shot.

Follwing the success run, Rishab had also announced to adopt the school and the results are overwhelming.

The school was on the verge of its closure and with Rishab’s efforts, it is most likely to spring back to life. Hats off Rishab and may your tribe increase.
