Saraswati! Prof B S Pandit memorial concert enthrals music connoisseurs

Mysuru: Geetha Shishu Shikshana Sangha (R), Mysuru a premier education society, was founded by the great Educationist and Visionary, Late Prof. B S Pandit, Founder Secretary, GSSS(R).
In his fond memory, B S Pandit Memorial Concert ‘SARASWATI’ was organized on 18th and 19th November 2022 at M. Govinda Rao Memorial Auditorium, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, K R S Road, Mysuru.

The highlight this year was “Strings of Hope”, a pre-concert interaction with students of Music was held from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm on Friday, 18th November 2022. In this interactive session music students had a discussion which was aimed at demystifying Indian classical music.
A Jugalbandhi Performance was rendered by the renowned musicians from 6.30 to 9pm.
Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh a prominent Veena artist, ten-time recipient of the “Award for Veena” by Music Academy, Chennai, “Kalaimamani” by the Government of Tamil Nadu, also “Sangeet Shikar Samman” award winner awarded by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, who created the musical environment very effectively..

Prof Anil Srinivasan, celebrated Piano performer, Prestigious Kalaimamani award winner from the Government of Tamil Nadu, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for creative and experimental music from the central Sangeet Natak Academy, Pride of Tamil Nadu by Round Table India, mesmerized the audience with his wonderful performance.
Pramath Kiran, Tabla performer, Grammy awardee, best Percussionist 2009 from Percussive Arts Center, Bengaluru and Kanchi Kamakoti Asthana Vidwamsa-2012 from Kanchi Mutt and Trichy Krishna, an established Ghatam player, is an able teacher and has been training youngsters in order to share his knowledge with the younger generation. The concert was a marvelous showcase of musical talent.

On Saturday, 19th November 2022, Hindustani music was rendered by famous Hindustani vocalist Siddharth Belmannu, a child prodigy, a young talented musician from Karkala, Udupi district of Karnataka with his team. He has worked with The Grammy Winning composer Ricky Kej for many of his live concerts and projects on environmental awareness.
He created an attentive atmosphere among the listeners. His soft voice initiated the listener to listen to him with utmost attention.
The concert became glorified with, Pt Ravindra Yavagal on Tabla, the recipient of Rajyotsava award conferred by Karnataka State Government in recognition of his talent and service rendered to the field of music and Pt Vyasmurti Katti, Harmonium player, has given several performances in India and visited various countries to give concerts with eminent artistes.

The concert concluded on an amazing note with the vocal recital and music by the renowned artists who struck the audience with their unique voice texture and artistic traits.
Music lovers of Mysuru city enjoyed the event on both the days.
