Rs 2,200 crore Covid scam! Mysuru District Congress Committee demands CBI probe

Mysuru: After Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah rained allegations finding large scale corruption in the name of Covid-19, Mysuru District Congress Committee has decided to take the issue forward.

Siddaramaiah had smelled corruption to the tune of whopping Rs 2,200 crore in the purchase of medical equipment to treat Covid19 cases.

It has taken a decision to exert pressure on the government to seek central bureau of investigation ( CBI) probe into the alkegations, at a meeting convened under the chairmanship of Mysuru District Rural Congress Committee president Dr B J Vijaykumar on Monday.

The five other decisions include filing of public interest litigation (PIL), demand for the resignation of chief minister and ministers, aggressive protest under KPCC directions at district level, meet deputy Commissioner and apprise for inquiry by Governor and a committee under the chairmanship of advocate C M Jagadish.

City Congress President R Murthy, KPCC Spokesman M Lakshmana, former chairperson of Karnataka State Women’s Commission Manjula Manasa, district legal cell ( rural) president Suresh Palya, urban president Vaidyanath, senior advocate C M Jagadish and other leaders took part in the meeting.
