Row over Viveka Memorial at Maharani’s NTMS reaches Suttur mutt

Mysuru: The raging controversy over the proposed Viveka Memorial on the premises of Maharani’s NTMS School on N S road in the city, has reached Suttur Mutt at the foothills of Chamundi.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and State BJP Vice-president B Y Vijayendra are chairing the meeting to work out a consensus without disappointing both the parties.

While a section of prominent personalities led by historian Prof P V Nanjaraje Urs are insisting on retaining Maharani’s NTM School in the interest of students, Sri Ramakrishna Ashram authorities want to build a memorial to commemorate the visit of Swami Vivekananda to the city.

With no end in sight for the dispute as both the groups are furthering their causes, the issue has now reached Suttur Mutt.

A meeting is underway to sort out the issue peacefully.

Maharani NTM School representatives- historian Prof P V Nanjaraje Urs, activists P Mallesh, Sa Ra Sudarshana, former mayor R Purushottam and others are attending the meeting.

Swami Muktidanandaji President of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysuru, writer C P Krishnakumar, former MLC D Madegowda are representing the Ashram in the meeting.
