Retired Defence officer’s body donated for medical research

Mysuru: Retired officer of Union Defence Department A Mahadevappa (83) passed away in the city on Wednesday.

A native of Antarasanthe in H D Kote taluk in Mysuru district, Mahadevappa was a resident of Kuvempunagar in the city.

As per the wish made during his life time, Mahadevappa’s body was donated to JSS Medical College in Bannimantap in the city for the purpose of medical research. 

Mahadevappa is survived by his wife Dakshayini, daughter, son-in-law, a large number of relatives and friends.

Mahadevappa had retired from Ordnance Factory of Defence Department at Pimpri in Maharashtra.

Mahadevappa had to his credit several books on health. He was a philanthropist, counsellor and social worker.

Mahadevappa was a recipient of Abdul Kalam National Award, Buddha Bharata Ratna Award conferred by Karnataka Janata Sevadala Trust.
