Mysuru: Congress leaders launched a post card campaign on Saturday urging Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to continue with the quota of ration earlier given to below poverty line (BPL) card holders under Anna Bhagya scheme.
Congress leaders led by former MLA M K Somashekar and city Congress President R Murthy posted the cards addressed to chief minister from the post box in front of the post office on Narayanashastry Road.
Alleging that Covid-19 management across the nation has failed, Somashekar alleged that “BJP government both at the state and centre are not helping the poor. While neighbouring state governments have announced packages to the poor, BJP led state government has scrapped the previous Anna Bhagya scheme, launched by the then Congress government headed by former chief minister Siddaramaiah.”
Across the nation 23 crore people are pushed to below poverty line in the present BJP regime. Government should give medical treatment, beds and oxygen facility to Covid patients, demanded Somashekar.
