Residents of all 62,000 houses in KR Constituency will be tested for Covid, announces MLA Ramadass

Mysuru: Former minister and Krishnaraja Assembly constituency MLA S A Ramadass on Wednesday announced that ” the residents of all the 62,000 households in the constituency will be tested for Covid-19 at nearby health centres.”

Speaking during the launch of a special drive for Covid test and vaccination, Ramadass said  “the members of all 62,000 houses in the constituency will be subjected to Covid test. If anybody is found positive, 100 vehicles are arranged to shift them for treatment.”

On International Yoga Day on June 21, a total of 270 booths will be arranged to vaccinate people in the constituency. It is in compliance with the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country.

As it has been planned to make the district Covid free by Doctor’s Day on July 1, all efforts will be made to complete the tests, even if it exceeds two days, he added.

Ramadass said “all these are intended at bringing down the Covid positivity rate in the district, which is still at 18 per cent. While the total positivity rate in the country is 4.09 pc.”

Cooperation and district incharge Minister S T Somashekar and Agriculture Minister B C Patil launched the drive.

MUDA Chairman H V Rajeev, DC Dr Bagadi Gautham, ZP CEO A M Yogesh, Assistant Commissioner Dr N C Venkataraju, MCC Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy G, Health Officer Dr D G Nagaraj, DHO Dr T Amarnath, DCP ( Crime and Traffic) Geetha Prasanna and Special officer to district incharge minister Dinesh Gooligowda and BJP City president T S Srivatsa were present.
