Remote controlled ICU at MIMS opened! An initiative of KGF fame film producer Vijay Kiragandur

Mandya: A hitech ICU set up at the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) hospital was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwathnarayan on Thursday.

It is a first of its kind remote controlled system in the sugar town Mandya.

Ashwathnarayan is also the chairman of State Covid Task Force.

The 20-bed ICU was built at the cost of Rs 55 lakh from the financial assistance assistance of Rs 2.35 crore given to the district by Hombale Groups of Vijay Kiragandur.

Vijay Kiragandur is into constructions and films. He has produced big budget films like KGF- 1 and II (soon to be released), Yuvarathnaa, Rajakumaraa to name a few.

The financial assistance was given to improve the basic infrastructural facilities on health front.

Of the total Rs 2.35 crore financial assistance, the ICU is set up at the hospital, while oxygen generator unit is being set up at K R Pet and Pandavapura taluk hospitals at the cost of Rs 90 lakh each.

While the works at K R Pet is expected to be completed in 15 days, with the works on fixing equipment underway, foundation has been laid at Pandavapura.

Both the units have the capacity of producing 500 litres of oxygen per minute.

Horticulture and district incharge minister K Narayan Gowda, MLA M Srinivas, MLC K T Srikantegowda and Deputy Commissioner S Ashwathi were present.
