Rebel Star of Telugu films Krishnam Raju passes away

Hyderabad: Tollywood on Sunday woke up to hear the sad news with renowned actor and producer Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju popularly known as Krishnam Raju passing away. He was suffering from health issues and breathed his last around 3:25 AM in Hyderabad. He was 83.

He was also a former union minister, who served as a state minister in the third ministry of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee. 

Krishnam Raju was born in Mogalturu, West Godavari in 1940. He made his acting debut with Chilaka Gorinka in 1966, which also won the Nandi Award. Sincd then there was no looking back for the versatile actor in the making, who turned out a handsome actor fit for villainy roles in many movies. Eventually he started playing a hero and went on to win the hearts of youngsters of those times.

In his acting career spanning several decades, he acted in more than 183 movies. He was last seen in his nephew Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam, that hit the screens this year. He was also the presenter of the movie.

He had his own production house Gopi Krishna Movies.

He had to his credit many Filmfare Awards and Nandi Awards.

While the notable movies include- Thandra Paparayudu, Bhakta Kannapa, Bobbili Brahmanna, Bava Bavamaridi, Dharmathmudu, Jeevana Tarangalu Krishnaveni to name a few.

He had also acted in Kannada movies like- Simhada Mari with Shivarajkumar and Hai Bangalore.
