Ready to bat for TB free Mysuru

Mysuru: The city of Mysuru is preparing to host third edition of ‘ RNTCP cup cricket tournament’ from May 18 to 20 at J K Ground opposite railway station.

The central government has identified Mysuru to be made as a ‘tuberculosis free’ city and hence the tournament is organised to create awareness against the disease.

A total of 12 teams that includes staff of health and family welfare department will be playing the matches. The teams listed are- district RNTCP team, health and family welfare department, Nanjangud and H D Kote taluks, NUHM Bengaluru, BBMP RNTCP Bengaluru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Davangere, Shivamogga, Hassan and Udupi districts.

1380 cases in 2019

In the on going year 1380 TB cases have been detected in Mysuru district and the treatment is going on.

During the previous year, 4634 cases were detected and 81% of people among them were successfully treated.
