Mysuru: ‘Bannada Badukina Chinnada Dinagalu’ a biography on theatre doyen late Enagi Balappa in Kannada has been translated into English and Marathi languages.
The biography in Kannada is authored by journalist and writer Ganesh Ameengad which is seeing its seventh reprint. The new versions will be released on August 18 at Navajyoti Auditorium at JSS College, Saraswatipuram, at 6 pm.
Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru president Dr Y D Rajanna has said “The books will be released on account of second death anniversary of Enagi Balappa. The English version titled ‘Golden Days of Colourful Life’ is translated by Krishnamurty Chandar and Marathi by writer Prof Gopal Mahamuni titled ‘Rangamaya Jeevanache Suvarnamaya Divas”.
Sarod exponent Pt Rajiv Taranath will release the books. Suttur Seer Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the ceremony.
Theatre persons Y M Puttannaiah and H Janardhan ( Janni) will render theatre songs.
