Rat snake found injured; operated

Mysuru: A rat snake was found injured at a garage near Tipu Circle in the city on Sunday. The snake which had sustained cuts on its mouth was found near the corner of a vehicle garage.

Herpatologist Kemparaju was summoned and the reptile was rescued. It was noticed that due to the cuts caused on its mouth the snake was finding it difficult to open its tongue as is the habit of the reptile while slithering on the ground.
It was taken to the Government Veterinary Hospital on Dhanwantri road.
The snake was operated upon with two stitches to cover the cuts, on the part of its mouth. What made the job easy was ‘Its a non-venomous Snake’.
