Rare sighting of giant size crocodile at Kukkarahalli lake

Mysuru: A giant size crocodile was spotted at Kukkarahalli lake in the city on Sunday, much to the delight of regular strollers at the lake.
The crocodile was seen sleeping on the lake bund, as captured on the cell phone camera of N Mahesh Nanjaiah during his evening stroll at the lake.
Mahesh, a resident of Siddartha Nagar in the city is also a photographer by profession.
The lake cherished for its abundance of avian species and aquatic life, including various fishes, has also been known to crocodiles. However, such sightings are infrequent, making each encounter a noteworthy occurrence.
Among the fortunate witnesses of this rare spectacle was Mahesh, who seized the opportunity to capture the majestic reptile in its natural habitat.
Nanjaiah’s stunning photograph not only immortalise the moment but also offer a glimpse into the diverse ecosystem thriving within the tranquil confines of Kukkarahalli Lake.

Of late the lake coming under the jurisdiction of University of Mysore is in news for the back to back death of fish.
