Rape of minor at actor’s farm house: Convict gets 43 years RI

Mysuru: A man convicted of raping a minor girl under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been sentenced to 43 years rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing a fine of Rs 50,000.
Judge Saima Kamroj of POCSO Special Court pronounced the judgment. A compensation of Rs seven lakh is also ordered to be awarded to the victim.
The 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a Bihar native, working at the farm house of actor Darshan Thoogudeepa on Mysuru- T Narsipur road in 2021.
Following this, police had registered a case and arrested the accused.
Special Public Prosecutor K B Jayanti had argued on behalf of the prosecution.
