Ranjani Memorial Trust holds sitar concert by Aayush Moroney on Oct 7

Mysuru: Ranjani Memorial Trust, Udupi is organising a sitar concert by Aayush Moroney, All India Radio ‘A’ Grade artiste on October 7 at Ninaada, Rishabh Siddhi layout, Kergalli at 6 pm. This is a part of Ninaada Griha Sangeeth, Mysuru. Moroney will be accompanied by Roopak Kallurkar, Bengaluru in Tabla.

Born in a family with rich musical tradition, Moroney’s grandfather Pt Gopal Moroney was a famous vocalist of Gwalior Gharana. Aayush started taking Hindustani classical Sitar lessons from an early age from his father, renowned Sitar player Pt. Arun Moroney, who himself is a disciple of renowned Dhrupadist Ustad Zia Fariddudin Dagar and Doyen of Imdadkhani Gharana Acharya Pt. Bhimlendu Mukherji. An “A” grade artiste of All India Radio and also the recipient of Silver Medal in All India Radio Music Competition, Moroney has performed in many prestigious conferences of the country – NCPA Mumbai, AIR Pune, Bharat Bhavan Bhopal, Pancham Nishad Indore, Shilparamam Complex Hyderabad and such.

He did his Masters of Technology Degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru and currently works at Amazon India as a Machine Learning Scientist.
