Ramp up vaccination drive, Lokayukta P Vishwanath Shetty directs officials

Mandya: Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty directed the officers to ramp up vaccination drive to check the spread of Covid-19.
Justice Shetty issued the directions to create more awareness and vaccinate the beneficiaries while presiding over district level officers meeting, at Tourist Bungalow on Friday.
Lokayukta suggested the officers to involve Asha workers, village accountants and water workers to convince those who haven’t taken their dose of vaccine and bring them to the centre. While giving impetus to both first and second doses, the remaining dose should be given to the eligible beneficiaries, Lokayukta said.
Officials irrespective of school and collegiate education, Lokayukta and others should visit schools and colleges to create awareness. The parents of the students should also be convinced to take the jab. The officials should monitor the implementation of safety measures like wearing mask, maintaining social distance, arranging hot water and ensuring hygiene at toilets.
Lokayukta who took note of other issues too, said “mines and geology department officers should stop illegal sand mining and supply. Revenue department officers should focus on resolving the cases, said Lokayukta to Assistant Commissioner.”
ZP CEO Divya Prabhu, Additional DC K T Shantala, DHO Dr Dhananjay, District Surveillance Officer Dr Sanjay, Lokayukta SP Puttamadaiah and others were present.
