Rallies, blood donation, demonstration on fire fighting mark Fire Safety Awareness Week

Mysuru: Fire and Emergency Services Department observed Fire Safety Awareness Week by organising various programmes like cycle rally, blood donation camp and demonstration of fire fighting by fire fighters.
Scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar inaugurated the cycle and motorbike rally from Mysore Palace North gate.
The week long programme from April 14 to 20 is organised with the theme “Learn Fire Safety and Increase Productivity”.
The rally passed through Chamarajendra Wadiyar Circle, Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar Circle, K R Circle, Irwin Road, JLB Road and Kalamandira before concluding at Saraswathipuram fire station.
More than hundred fire fighters donated blood at the blood donation camp at Parade Grounds, in association with the blood bank of Apollo BGS Hospitals.
The fire fighters demonstrated advanced fire fighting skills with water guns.
Chandana from Hebbal Fire Station and Mandya Fire Officer Gururaj, Ganga Nayak were felicitated.
Chief Fire Officer Jayaramaiah and Regional Fire Officer K P Naveen Kumar were present.
