Raitha Sangha demands job for land losers

Mysuru: Hundreds of acres of agricultural land were acquired to develop industrial areas at Immavu, Adakanahalli and Tandavapura in Nanjangud taluk, the industries which were set up are yet to keep their promise on providing jobs for the members of those farmer families, alleged T Ramegowda Vidyasagar president of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha ( KRRS).

Speaking to media on Monday, Vidyasagar demanded that ‘ only ‘A’ group job should be provided along with relevant salary to every pahani holder and unemployed Kannadiga in local Panchayat should be given due priority. The false cases foisted against farmer leaders who were staging protest demanding jobs should be withdrawn .

Vidyasagar reminded that when Siddaramaiah was the chief minister of the State, representing Varuna constituency, foundation had been laid for the industrial areas. Asian Paints set up its unit here, but the locals are still deprived of job opportunities.
