1 min read

Mysuru: As heavy rain lashed Mysuru city in the last 10 to 12 hours, Anand Nagar has turned into an island, while a tree uprooted and fell on a car on fourth cross in Vidyaranyapuram.

A transformer pole also came crashing down near Mega Medicals road in Kuvempunagar.

Fortunately no casualties are reported, except for the damage of private and public properties.

All these and many more incidents exposed poor infrastructures in the city, with the irate public cursing Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) for turning a blind eye towards rain related issues.

Anand Nagar close to Bogadi ring road is partially covered in water and storm water drains overflowed with water gushing into houses at low lying areas severely inconveniencing the residents who had to spend sleepless night.

Following the complaints, MCC Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy visited Anand Nagar to inspect the damages, only to face the wrath of enraged residents.

Besides, various roads have turned into a deluge with water accumulating potholes.
