Chamarajanagar: Rain continues to batter Wayanad and surrounding areas in Kerala, inconveniencing most of the vehicles.
As a precautionary measure, road passing through Maddur check post in Bandipur tiger reserve forest is closed for vehicular traffic.
Most of the vehicles are already stranded at Moolehole check post on the other side, as it is difficult to manoeuvre the wheels in rain. If more vehicles are allowed through Maddur, there are possibilities of further pile up of vehicles.
To avoid the chaos, the traffic is restricted through Maddur.
Bandipur forest is also receiving heavy rainfall, including Gopalaswamy Hill range and Gundlupet town.
