Rain fury: Rs seven lakh property damages estimated in K R Nagar

Mysuru: Following heavy rainfall from the past one week, K R Nagar taluk is also bearing the brunt. The taluk is receiving average of 33 MM of rain.

Tahsildar Manjula said on Saturday “Twenty houses have damaged and the loss is estimated at Rs seven lakh”.

At Mavanur village, four goats have died after a house collapsed due to rain. The loss is estimated at RS 12,000.

One acre of banana plantation has been lost in Haliyur village in Chunchanakatte hobli.

Police have been deputed at Chunchanakatte and Hale Edathore also the tourist spots and Hanasoge and Ballur Katte to prevent tourists from stepping into water.

Fire personnel have been told to be ready with expert swimmers, boats and life jackets.

PWD officials have been told to take up works on roads and bridges according to the situation.

The department of animal husbandry and veterinary services should be ready with adequate feed for the animals and open go shala.

Cesc should shift damaged poles and disconnect power in the event of intensified rains.

The water resources department should notify about the water level in the river.

The executive officer of Sri Rama Temple at Chunchanakatte has been told to install more warning boards near the river to check untoward incidents.
