Rail Roko: Cops thwart farmers bid to stop trains in Mysuru

Mysuru: Farmers bid to stop trains as part of Rail Roko agitation at the main Railway station on JLB road in Mysuru was foiled by the Police on Wednesday.
Following a call by Samyukta Kisan Morcha for the nationwide Rail Roko agitation, the farmers under the banners of Federation of State Farmers Organisations and State Sugarcane Growers Association made a bid to enter the railway station.
However they were stopped at the main entrance of the railway station near Babu Jagjivan Ram Circle.
The farmers led by Kurbur Shanthakumar raised slogans and waved green shawls.
The Police detained the protesters and took them in vans.
