Mysuru: In a startling revelation, K S Shivaram, State President of Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargavada Jagruta Vedike, has exposed an alarming blackmailing racket targeting Government officials.
Addressing a press conference at the Mysore District Journalists Association on Friday Shivaramu detailed how a group of individuals has been secretly installing CCTV cameras in government offices to capture the happenings.
According to Shivaram, these perpetrators allegedly send the recorded footages to the
officials, threatening to release it unless a significant sum of money is paid to them.
He stated that, the Vedike has documented multiple cases of such extortion and vowed to file a formal complaint with the Police Commissioner of Mysore.
“The misuse of surveillance cameras to intimidate and extort government officials is a
direct attack on the integrity of our institutions. We will not remain silent. Justice must prevail,” Shivaram asserted.
It has sparked a widespread concern regarding the security of government
establishments and the vulnerability of officials to blackmail.
The Vedike’s proactive stance in exposing the racket has been lauded, with many calling for a swift and transparent investigation, said Shivaram.
