Mysuru: The atmosphere was charged with emotions and a profound sense of accomplishment.

The culmination ceremony celebrating the 14 world records attained by the students of Purna Chetana School, located on HD Kote Road in the city during this academic year, was marked by feelings of satisfaction, notable achievements and a significant message to the community.

Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji, Sri Bala Swamiji (the junior pontiff) of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, honoured the remarkable feat of 214 students, ranging from pre-primary to class X, who collectively recited the Bhagavad Gita for an uninterrupted duration of 16 hours, 1 minute and 20 seconds (from 7 am to 11 pm), setting a record for the longest marathon chanting by a group.

This remarkable achievement has been recognised by Elite World Records, Asian Records Academy and India Records Academy.

In his Aashirvachanam, the Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji addressed a range of topics concerning the Indian education system, societal values, the future of society, the nation, and the global order.

The absence of Bharatiyata or Indianness, signifies the nonexistence of Bharata. Without Bharata, our very existence is jeopardized. Therefore, it is imperative that we disseminate the concept of Bharatiyata to every household and individual through our educational initiatives. In light of this, it is essential to implement a Bharatiyata education system as soon as possible, Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji asserted.

The record serves merely as a pretext. The teachings of the Bhagavad Gita have been disseminated globally by enthusiastic schoolchildren. According to him, the answers to the myriad issues plaguing this world can be found in the wisdom imparted by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.

Education devoid of values is of little significance. In this regard, it is essential to provide a value-oriented education system to all children. This is crucial for the development of a prosperous India in the future, Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji asserted.

“A world cannot exist without a robust Bharat. It is imperative for us to strive towards establishing a strong India, grounded in the values taught by our gurus, sages, and philosophers,” he emphasised.

“The Gurukul education system significantly contributed to the cultivation of the Bharatiya value-education framework. Presently, such an education is being offered at Purna Chetana School, which serves as a model for all,” Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji commended.

On this occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of the school, Darshan Raj, eemphasised hat the preservation of our country’s culture is contingent upon imparting modern education to students while simultaneously instilling Bharatiya values.

He cautioned that failing to do so could result in us facing the same challenges that Western societies encounter.

“Bharatiyata embodies a collection of life and societal values. A life devoid of values lacks significance. It is imperative for our society to recognize this,” he stated.

Chief Administrator Maadhurya Ramaswamy, Principal Priyanka B and Dean Lavanya were present.
