PSI recruitment scam: ADGP Amrit Paul arrested by CID

Bengaluru: In a major development with regard to the ongoing investigation into 545 PSI recruitment scam, CID personnel arrested ADGP (Recruitment) Amrit Paul on Monday. It is also the first arrest of IPS cadre officer in the scam.
The CID had summoned the IPS officer for inquiry for the fifth time. After inquiry, the CID arrested Paul and taken to Bangalore Magistrate Court. Before that medical test was conducted at Bowring Hospital.
The CID which has already made several arrests in the case including police, made the arrest on the basis of the statement of a DySP, during investigation.
It is alleged that, the empty OMR sheets were being filled at the strong room in Annexe Building, the security of which directly comes under the purview of ADGP. Four policemen were indulge in the irregularities inside the strong room. Paul was all aware of it, it is alleged further.
