Proposal to raze Devaraja Market, Lansdowne Bazaar! MLA L Nagendra calls on Pramoda Devi Wadiyar at Mysuru Palace

Mysuru: Amid the raging controversy over the proposal to demolish and rebuild Devaraja Market and Lansdowne Bazaar buildings, MLA L Nagendra met scion of erstwhile royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar on Friday. 

Nagendra accompanied by Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner G Lakshmikantha Reddy and other officials called on Pramoda Devi at the residential wing of the palace.

Nagendra who explained about his plans regarding both the heritage structures, apprised Pramoda Devi about the present status and court orders, references of Government formed taskforce committee and Heritage Experts Committee, MCC council decisions and the opinions.

He also explained about his plans to either restore, repair or rebuild on heritage lines.

Wadiyar said “we will also discuss with the experts and take a decision after 15 days on how to manage the two structures for the benefit of public”.

Deputy Director of Mysuru Palace Board Subramanya, MCC Zone-6 Assistant Commissioner Manjunath, Engineer Kavita, BLA-1 Dinesh Gowda and Personal Assistant of MLA Nagendra Praveen Kumar were also present.
