Mysuru: Mysuru Citizens Forum has decided to do its mite for the cause of flood affected people in Mysuru and surrounding districts.
The forum led by Suttur Seer Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji will be assessing the affected areas and take up measures to help them.
Former minister and MLA S A Ramdas on Friday announced Rs five lakh to the chief minister’s calamity relief fund.
“A team led by Ramdas will be assessing the situation in Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu districts. The team will shoulder the task along with the forum”.
The city had witnessed a similar situation in the previous year too and the MCC officials have been told to make necessary arrangements to handle the situation.
Mysuru Citizen Forum will soon call a meeting and chalk out plans to help the flood affected people in north Karnataka too.
GSS Foundation’s G S Srihari and R Vasudev Bhat said ” We have already opened collection centres at GSS foundation in Kuvempunagar and Safe Wheels in Saraswatipuram. The interested people can donate the needy items at these centres”.
