Project Symposium – 2021 at GSSSIETW! Students showcase innovative ideas

Mysuru: Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru had organized Project Symposium – 2021 (Virtual mode) on July 10.
The main objective of Project Symposium 2021 was to encourage and provide an opportunity for students to orient themselves to specific focussed areas of interest which helps in developing inter and intra personal skills. The project symposium provided a platform for the students to showcase their innovative ideas and implementation.

The Chief Guest Dr Vidya H A, Secretary, IEEE PES Chapter, Bangalore, appreciated the initiative taken by E&E Engineering department & institute, which provided students a platform to exhibit their technical skills and explore themselves towards the niche trends of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

She highlighted the importance of project ideas which make meaningful steps towards the welfare of the society. 

The chief guest also stressed upon the importance of Project Based Learning to upgrade their all-round skills with more emphasis on interdisciplinary projects.

This is to be carried out as a major project with integration of small modules to have more effectiveness of learning.

Dr Shivakumar M, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru gave concluding remarks about Project Symposium-2021.

He said “problem solving ability, analysis skills and communication are the important elements in an engineering career. Project symposium also helps students to inculcate writing skills. This is a significant learning experience. Students will be beneficial with industry preparedness with key focus on individual and team work.”

Session concluded with the distribution of merit and participation certificates.

Earlier, inaugural session commenced with invocation song by Sheetal N, student of 6th semester E&E Engineering. Raksha K, student of 6th semester E&E Engineering delivered the welcome speech. 

Dr Jagadisha N, Associate Professor, E&E Engineering briefed about the Project Symposium -2021.

The Master of Ceremonies was performed by Tinu Tom, student of 6th semester E&E Engineering.

Presentations were done by students as a part of symposium based on project work done in two different tracks. 

Ranjitha S, Assistant Engineer, KPTCL and Deepthi, Software Developer, Infosys, Mysuru were the jury members.

They evaluated the project symposium papers.

“Automatic hand sanitizer” and “IOT based Land slide detection and alert system” were awarded as best papers.

Dr Shivakumar M, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, Dr P S Puttaswamy, HOD, Dept. of EEE, Dr Jagadisha N, Associate Professor and Project Symposium-2021 coordinators, HODs of various departments, Faculty members and Students were present, according to Mahanthesh U, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW Mysuru.
