Bengaluru: The private hospitals have agreed to provide 3,500 beds for covid treatment, said Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.

Apart from beds private hospitals will also run covid care centres in collaboration with hotels to treat asymptomatic and people with mild symptoms. Together with beds and covid care centres private hospitals will add 6000 to 7000 beds in coming days”, Minister said.

JJMMC Stipend Issue

Clarifying on JJMMC stipend issue minister Sudhakar said that he has held several meetings with the college management in this regard. Also he had discussed the issue with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.

CM has already directed the management to release the stipend of resident doctors and PG medicos immediately. Now, the college management has to act”, minister added.

Honesty and courage like ‘Punya Koti’ cow

Minister gave the example of popular story Punya Koti in the fight against Covid. The honest cow has surrendered before the mighty tiger to keep its promise. It’s this honesty and courage that defeated the bad and ugly. In the similar manner we should be honest against the virus and get tested ourselves without hiding it.

Wearing masks, Social distancing, following government guidelines etc. are the weapons against Covid which can win this war for us, Dr Sudhakar explained.
