Post Jamboo Savari, heavy rain leaves people on outing in Mysuru drenched

Mysuru: A hour after curtains came down on Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara with Jamboo Savari, heavy rain lashed several parts of the city on Friday.

This dampened the spirit of most, especially the tourists who were eagerly waiting to soak in festive mood, with an array of attractions lined up in the form of illumination across the city.

The localities in and around Palace like Ramanuja road, Agrahara, Basaveshwara Road, Ramaswamy circle, Chamarajapuram, K G Koppal, Kuvempunagar to name a few witnessed heavy downpour. It was accompanied by lightning at places.

The people who had gathered in large numbers in the heart of the city to catch the illuminated sight of the city were caught unawares. They were drenched with rains leaving no chance to escape.

Earlier, elephant Abhimanyu carried Golden Howdah with the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari up to 200 metres inside Palace.

It started raining after 6-30 PM and those who were still vacating the palace, were also caught off guard.
