Post arrest, anticipatory bail plea of seer likely to be quashed

Chitradurga: Following the arrest of Murugha Mutt Seer Dr Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana in a POCSO case, the anticipatory bail plea filed by the seer is most likely to be quashed.

According to an advocate, “soon after the arrest of the accused irrespective of case, the anticipatory bail plea will lose its value. The advocate must apprise the court and file for a regular bail”.

The first additional district and sessions court of Chitradurga which took up the anticipatory bail plea filed by the advocate of the seer, deferred the hearing to Friday. Besides, the public prosecutor had been directed by the judge to file objections if any”.

Amid this, the seer was arrested on the eve of the hearing over anticipatory bail plea, on Thursday.
