Poll code violations! 31 sarees, Rs 15,000 seized

Mysuru: On the eve of by- elections, the attempts were being made to induce voters in Hunsur Assembly constituency on December 4, violating model code of conduct.

In separate cases, 31 sarees worth Rs 31,000 and Rs 15,000 have been seized. Following an information, Hunsur rural police led by PSI went to Dodda Hejjur and Hunsur main road near Bharatwadi village.

Upon seeing the PSI, a few suspects fled from the spot leaving behind a bag. The bag cconsisted of 31 sarees worth Rs 31,000.

In another case, Harish of Jabagere was distributing money to voters at Gawadagere village.

Inspector K C Prakash of Cyber crime, economic offences and narcotics ( CEN) station went to the spot.

Harish took to heels, but the police succeeded in catching hold of him. He also had the letters of five polling agents in his possession.

The cases are registered at Hunsur rural police station.
