Police Flag Day! Discipline, behaviour hold significance in police department, says retired SP Shivakumaraiah

Mysuru: Retired Superintendent of Police Shivakumaraiah on Saturday said “Discipline and behaviour are the integral parts of police department. Both discipline and behaviour decide how the police should be in the society and what are the expectations of the society “.

He took part as chief guest at Police Flag Day celebration jointly organised by city police, district police, mounted police, Karnataka Police Academy, district police, KSRP fifth battalion, Police Training School, State intelligence, DCRE, Lokayukta, ACB, Cescorp and ISD.

Explaining the significance of Police Flag Day, Shivakumaraiah said ‘all should be familiar of history as April 2 is celebrated as Police Flag Day every year”.

Those police officers and personnel retired from the service were given financial assistance from the funds raised through selling Police Flag stickers. The Day is announced as ‘Welfare Day’ and hence the retired policemen are being given the assistance, said Shivakumaraiah.
