POCSO case: After arrest, Murugha seer taken to undisclosed location

Chitradurga: Soon after arresting Murugha Mutt Seer Dr Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana in a POCSO case, police are learnt to have taken the seer to an undisclosed location.

The seer was arrested during late night hours, only to avoid the media glare considering the significance of Murugha Mutt.

The seer clad in ochre and covering his head and midriff region with a white shawl, was driven away from the Mutt premises in a SUV, with police accompanying the seer.

Earlier in the day, police made elaborate security arrangements hinting at the possibility of the arrest, with pressure mounting from various quarters.

Chitradurga rural CPI Balachandra Naik and Molakalmur Police Inspector Satish had also visited the Mutt.

On the other hand, high alert had been sounded in Chitradurga.

Considering the severity of the case, the progressive thinkers had vented their ire on the government for the prolonged delay in the arrest of the accused in POCSO case.

Apart from the seer, the hostel warden a woman, Basavaditya Swamiji the junior pontiff of the Mutt, secretary Paramashivaiah and advocate Gangadharaiah have also been named as co-accused in the case.

While the seer the prime accused and warden have been arrested in the case, remaining three are yet to be arrested, it is said.
