PM Narendra Modi arrives in Mysuru

Mysuru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in a special flight of Indian Air Force (IAF) at Mysore Airport in Mandakalli, in the outskirts of the city on Saturday.

Modi who was at Chennai earlier in the day, attending 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekannada at Ramakrishna Mutt, Chennai and launched Vande Bharat Express train between Secunderabad and Tirupati, at Hyderabad in Telangana, and launched various development works.

The special flight carrying the Prime Minister arrived from Chennai airport, nearly an hour behind the schedule, at 9.30 pm, after the inauguration of terminal 2 there in Chennai Airport. 

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendar Yadav, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Consumer Affairs Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra and Police Commissioner B Ramesh greeted the Prime Minister on his arrival.

Modi will stay overnight at Radisson Blu Plaza  Hotel and will go to Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Chamarajanagar and Theppakadu elephant Camp in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu on Sunday morning.

After returning to Mysuru, Modi will participate in the celebrations of 50 years of Project Tiger organised at KSOU Convocation Hall in the city.

The Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel is covered by screen due to Model Code of Conduct and traffic restrictions and diversions are in place.
