Mysuru: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bandipur Tiger Reserve – to celebrate golden jubilee of Project Tiger – ADGP ADGP Alok Kumar and IGP Southern range Praveen Madhukar Pawar reviewed security arrangements at Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

It is said that there is no official confirmation – as yet – about PM Modi’s visit to Bandipur on April 9. However, the district administration along with forest and police authorities are keeping the ground ready for the event.

It is expected that Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Mysuru on April 8 and stay back. Next day, on March 9, he will arrive at Melukamanahalli in Bandipura in helicopter. He is expected to go on a safari and an interaction with safari and staff is scheduled. Later, he will visit Theppakadu elephant camp in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve by road and will meet mahout-couple Bomman and Bellie, who shot to fame in the Oscar-winning documentary, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’.

PM Modi will return back to Mysuru and attend the National Tiger Census Data release function at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Convocation auditorium.
