PM Modi flags off Vande Bharat Express; opens terminal 2 at KIA

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off south India’s first Vande Bharath Express train connecting Mysuru and Chennai via Bengaluru.

Modi who arrived in a special flight at HAL Airport later visited Vidhana Soudha to pay tributes to Saint poets Maharshi Valmiki and Kanakadasa on the occasion of their Jayanti respectively.

Modi next visited KSR railway station and flagged off the indeginiously built Vande Bharat Express train.

He also threw open the newly built swanky terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport at Devanahalli in Bengaluru.

Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa, Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Narayan Swamy, Housing Minister V Somanna accompanied Modi.
