Mysuru: Forester Vinod Kumar V K, to whom photography is his second nature, is hosting a unique photo exhibition of insects and its life at Neralu Belaku Coffee City gallery, Vijayanagar.
Kumar, a naturalist and a resident of Kushalnagar, developed a keen interest in photography. Earlier, he captured birds but later ‘lesser appreciated’ insects – that play a pivotal role in ecology – caught his attention. He has been a recipient of Federation of Indian Photography AFIP award and International Federation of photographic Art AFIAP Distinction award and national awards.
His display at the Coffee City will explore the lesser known aspects of insects’ life.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on September 9 by Mandya-based educationist and photographer Dr Leela Appaji and Naturalist Girish Gowda at 4 PM.
Speaking to Mysoorunews.com, Kumar said he had been waiting to showcase his work on insects – photographed mostly in Kodagu district – as not much is known about them. He has selected 21 frames that are sure to leave the visitor surprised about the life of insects. He has managed to capture mating of some insects that will sure open doors for discussion among nature lovers, he believes.
The exhibition will be on till September 17 at Coffee City in Vijayanagar.
