People return from TN to villages; Kollegal AC puts them under home quarantine

Chamarajanagar: With lockdown in place, people from neighbouring Tamil Nadu are turning towards their native villages in Karnataka.

Many people from neighbouring state have taken forest route and arrived at Meenya, Peddana Palya, Yarambadi, Jallipalya and other villages here.

Following the complaints of villagers, Assistant Commissioner of Kollegal Nikita Chinnaswamy visited the villages and directed such people to be under 14 days home quarantine.

As per the norms, such people are classified as suspects and they should not be under any impression that they are treated as infected persons. They have to be under home quarantine in their own interest and also villagers.

If found roaming in violation of norms, they will be dealt severely within the ambit of law, the AC warned them.
