Mysore: “Sudden death is always due to cardiac failure; past 40 you have to respect your age and get yourself ECG done once in a way or periodically,” said Senior Surgeon Dr C G Narasimhan.
Speaking after inaugurating two day Dr (Col) LN Raja Memorial Legends Premier League – T10 Cricket Tournament organised by Noesys Software in association with Navodaya Cricket Club at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium at Manasagangotri here on Saturday, he recalled the incident of actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s death due to cardiac arrest and Ravi Keerthi, the cricketer who passed away due to cardiac failure on World Heart Day while playing cricket match few days back.

Dr Narasimhan said “The reason for cardiac failure might be different, like what happened to Puneeth Rajkumar who over did it was different, while Ravi Keerthi who suffered similar cardiac failure while playing cricket is different. In Puneeth Rajkumar’s case he over did it, while in Ravi Keerthi’s case it seems he must had some cardiac issue which might have not known to him. If he had done ECG he might have known his cardiac related issues. Hence past 40 you have to respect your age and get yourself ECG done once in way where we can come to know about our heart conditions.”
