Mysuru: While there is a decline in the number of Covid cases in the district, there is no escape from the grip of pandemic yet. The pandemic scalped its 1000th victim in the district, in the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
A total of 51 fresh cases and one death is reported in the district.
Mysuru stands next in the tally after Bengaluru, that has been on the top compared to other places in the state.
The first Covid caused death was reported in Mysuru on June 24. A 83-year-old man from K R Nagar who died at a private hospital was officially confirmed as a first death due to Covid in Mysuru district. But the history related to 1000th victim is not available.
The district administration recently celebrated 410th Dasara in a simple, traditional and virtual manner as a precaution against pandemic.
Till date, 50,731 positive cases are registered in the district and 49,401 cases are discharged and thousand lives are lost due to pandemic.
