Mysuru: PANCHAVARNE- a one person play was staged at Seshadripuram Degree College, Mysore, in association with IQAC and the Women Empowerment Cell – Garima, on July 29 at the college’s seminar hall.
Dr Meera H N, Faculty of Commerce at MLA Academy of Higher Learning, Bengaluru, performed the act, which was written and directed by Dr Beluru Raghunandan.

“Panchavarne” is Dr Meera H N’s debut, as a solo performer. It was her 14th performance as a Panchavarne.
The one-person play narrates the powerful story of Draupadi, also known as Panchali, who was born from fire and endured a life filled with fire, in Mahabharata. However, it is not just the story of Draupadi—it reflects the struggles and strength of every woman, symbolizing the journey of a common girl in every household.

The Mahabharata does not belong to any one man—it belongs to the voices of the women who endured in silence. Without women, the world would not exist.
The play delivered a powerful message that gender equality is essential for the progress and development of India.
Dr Sowmya Erappa K, Principal, Archana Swamy N, SIPUC Principal, Sandhya Achari, Coordinator of Women Empowerment Cell- Garima, faculties, staff members and Ist Year Students were present.
